My Hidden Talent! (not so hidden anymore!)

You will be pleased to hear, that along with my detective skills, I have uncovered another talent! Although I am quite laid back and a gentle gorilla, I have always liked listening to music, and sometimes find my hands tapping away, especially when she is playing Aled Jones. I usually don't like more heavy music - it makes my ears hurt. But I went away for the weekend and found myself sat on the kitchen table listening to some music. My hands started tapping and before I knew it, there I was - drumming along!

I couldn't believe it! It was quite a liberating experience! Then I found some drums, so thought I'd give it a go. And Wow! I loved it even more!

I've never played the drums before. I was great! I even loved the noise! I got so good at it, that a ring tailed monkey acquaintance of mine brought his guitar along and we did some jamming (although there were no doughnuts).

As you can see I got quite carried away and excited by it all. I felt really good afterwards, so myself and a dog acquaintance decided to treat ourselves to something called 'brunch.' Apparently its a mixture of breakfast and lunch. So I suppose lunch and tea is 'teach' and dinner and supper is 'dipper.' All sounds like codswallop to me (is that a fish being hit? I hope not, because I should phone the RSPCA if it is).

Anyway, the panckaes were yummy (although no jam around).

I'm back in the fluffy-hair house now and told Nora and Simon and Chubby and the Monkey and all of them about it (although Nora seemed more interested in the pancakes I had eaten and kept asking me if they had carrots in). But as for the rest - they couldn't believe it! Me! In a band (I think we should be called the Monkey-La-Las, although I am an ape - it sounds better than Ape-La-La)! They have always been used to me being the sensible, gentle one. But on this weekend (where banks have holidays, but people who keep their money under the matress don't) I have discovered a more outgoing form of myself! Hurrah! I don't think she'll be too happy though if the pots and pans keep disappearing out of the kitchen cupboard when I am practicing. But, who cares! I'll do my drumming when she is out. And one day, who knows, I may be playing in front of millions. Maybe Nora could be one of the dancers. Oooh! I'm getting quite excitied. Must go and eat a banana (got to replace the energy I have used!)

hot feet

hot feet! well, lewis was right. senor raimi the llama who lives on the stairs was only spitting at me because he wanted to dance too! he's actually wearing me out because every time i go downstairs we have a dance! yoda thinks we're good enough to go on one of those talent tv things.
here i am doing some breakdancing, although i do not have a suit of shells to wear.

and here is senor raimi spinning me around! i love it! he said he likes spinning around and flying because he wants to be a hair traffic controller, or something.
it makes me want to eat more carrot cake. hot feet!

You can't go far in a motor car with my front door key

There has been nobody knocking on the fluffy-hair door wanting to talk to Simon. But I have decided to dress a little more smartly anyway (you can see my hansome new red tie in our photo below - thanks Emu for taking it, and giving me your tie). In any case, it does no harm to my standing as not only a detective, but also a silver back in waiting. (I don't really know what all of that means as I spend most of my time sitting rather than standing due to the way my legs have been created - which makes it easier to drive an F1 motor car, but more of that another time). So anyway, you've already met Nora the Panda and Simon the Sloth. But here in the picture is also Chubby.

Chubby is a chicken (I won't get into the duck debate right now) - and no spring chicken at that. She is a good friend and has spent a lot of time talking with the Monkey lately. Perhaps she is missing George, who lives a long way from here in a place called Swine or something. Talking of Swines, The Pig That Is has been given the 'OK' from nurse Nora (after reading the information leaflet). So no swine flu here, although Chubby has been a bit worried and still won't come downstairs to talk to The Pig That Is.

And talking of coming down the stairs. Nora is still getting hassle from the llama every time she goes up or down the stairs, as you can see. Not sure why he picks on her. I am always OK.

Maybe its because I don't make a fuss like Nora does. She also dances a lot, which may confuse him. Or maybe he wants to join in? I shall pass that observation onto Nora (observation is one of the many skills I use in my detective work).

Anyway. Time to go. She'll be back from the shop soon (hopefully with bananas).

Sloth Club 7

There is something called the book of faces or something and Simon the Sloth has become famous overnight! And we are his friends! We may have journalists camping outside wanting to see us all, so I had better have a wash and take some new phots of us all to put on this. So my detective work will have to wait while we sort out a press release, pop in the washing machine (not Chubby though, due to her phobia) and pose for the paps. Until tomorrow (have to go and help with the ironing now because she is being lazy and watching TV).

Carrot Bank

apparently this is a bank holiday or something something. she is on a holiday as well, so its not just banks. and some people put their money under the matress and not in a bank, so do they get a holiday?

i put my carrot cake (yummy-best-ever-cake-and-healthy-too-coz-its-got-carrots-in) under the rug. today i was looking forward to eating it, as you can see.

but then simon the sloth came along and just took some of it. he didn't even ask. i know he's a sloth and everything and speaks spanish and we have the same eyes, but i was not happy. he just walked off with it. as you can see, i was left looking stunned!

i decided not to talk to him for a very long time, or as long as it took me to eat my bit of the cake.

luckily, i still have some hidden under the rug, so will get to it later.

i'm feeling a bit sick beacuse i ate too much, so maybe it was good that simon ate my cake. perhaps i should learn to speak sloth spanish. i wonder if it the same as llama spanish, as we've got a couple of those living with us (one of them lives on the stairs and spits everytime i go past). i'm going to have a sleep now as we pandas like that. i'm glad we have no trees inside the house (although simon is not happy about that as he loves (slowly) climbing trees) because i heard that one of my panda friends in china fell asleep in the branch of a tree (maybe after eating too much cake) and fell out and ended up in hospital!
