dreams can come true!

i am not sure whether or not i dreamt what just happened...

our neighbour (richard the bear) came around to the fluffy-hair house with his friend alan.  apparently alan is a master chocolatier and cake maker!  yippee!

look at these fantastic cakes alan has made!  and they're all for me!  (well, i might be forced to share them).  alan is very talented and a very nice animal.  i'm going to ask lewis if it's alright if he stays with us for a while.  paws crossed!

lots of love and crossed sticky paws, nora the panda xxx (and new bff, alan)

happy sunshine seaside

i felt a bit bad that we all had that nice meal without lewis.  we weren’t being racist.  we just thought he was away for a few days on another top secret mission with bond. badger bond.  so to cheer him up i decided to treat him for the day.

unfortunately, i got the address wrong.  we went to a place that derek licked, or something something.
luckily, lewis was able to use his mad (master of animal detective) skills to find a better place.

so i treated him to a monkey la la cocktail.
we even dipped our toes into a bubbly lake (apparently called a jacuzzi.  what a silly name).

then ended off the day talking to the fish in the sea (no codswallop).

i am glad lewis is my best friend!
happy sunshine sea side

Racism?

I was not too happy about this.

Hopefully next time when I come back from work, the animals in the Fluffy-Hair house might actually make me some food.  Just because I am on a diet.  I still need to eat!  Or is it because I am black?

counting sheep...

lewis is feeling a lot better, you'll be pleased to hear.  but as for me, well, i've had some difficulties sleeping lately.

even counting sheep has not helped, as you can see.

so i took lewis's advice (for a change.  i usually don't listen to him when he says that i eat too many cakes and things)...  i went to see his therapist!

here we all are after the therapy.  lewis said he was drinking wine to celebrate feeling much better.  although he didn't feel better the next day.  sometimes gorilla's are silly.

you'll be pleased to hear that i am now dreaming of fields of sheep.  there are always lots of them.  i'm so pleased i don't have to try counting them anymore!

lots of love and sweet dreams (or dreams of sweets) nora xxx

In Treatment...

Hello all!  Lewis here.  I haven't been on here for a while, I know.  Very sorry.  Unfortunately all the work I have been doing has made me a bit stressed.  It doesn't help that I cannot tell you about the work, as it is all very top secret.  Anyway, things got so bad, that I actually went into therapy!

Strange, you may think.  A handsome, intelligent gorilla needing therapy.  But it happens to the best of us and there is no shame in it.  Anyway.  Here I am with my therapist.  He made me talk about lots of things.

It was very helpful.  Even Nora is thinking of going because she keeps having nightmares about falling out of a tree (apparently, that happens to pandas.  A lot).

My therapist and I got on really well.

So well, in fact, that he gave me a book to read and I even ended up helping him!  He gets stress too apparently!

I shall go and see him again, as we got on so well and he was very helpful.  I would recommend it!

Just popping off now to eat a banana.

Lots of love and happy thoughts,

Lewis MAD (obviously this means Master of Animal Detective and not that I actually am mad (mind you, I think my therapist is!)) xxx

monkey olympics

yay!  it's monkey olympics time!  we in the fluffy-hair house have been waiting for this for a long time.  monkey did very well with his high bar gymnastics routine as you can see.

but monkey brother unfortunately fell during his routine.  oh dear.

but he recovered well and went on to win the 10m sprint.

look at him go!!

in the end, monkey won gold for his high bar routine and monkey brother won gold in the 10m sprint.  we are all very proud of them.  i have heard a rumour that their medals have chocolate inside, so i am off to wade through the crowds of animals to test out this rumour (i hope it is true as i have only eaten strawberries today).

game goes sour

we decided to play a game today.  we are helping lime the tree frog with his speaking skills.  he has some special needs (as you can see, he looks a bit like a mentalist, which lewis says is not a very nice thing to say: apparently its not very pc. but a pc is a computer, so i'm a bit confused).  anyway.  he finds it hard to speak (he just whistles a lot - and still annoyingly jumps up and down a lot - the other day he shook the chair so much with all his jumping that the cake in my hand fell on the floor!).  anyway.  the game was a describing game.  it started off quite interesting, as you can see.

lime accurately managed to describe me as the one with the sweet tooth.  i think he is quite clever really.  lewis wasn't too happy that he got caught picking his nose.  and then everyone started fussing a lot because monkey stubbed his toe.

they went on and on about it.  so much so that i fell asleep (us pandas do that a lot).  i wasn't too happy about the comments they made about me.

we then had an argument over the cards above.  we each wanted to have all of them.  lewis, of course, said he should have the genius description card because he is MAD (master of animal detective).  lewis ended up getting so annoyed that nobody could make a decision, that he stormed off, as you can see below.

he was muttering something about letting one go (it wasn't me).

so everyone is now in a mood (apart from monkey, who is always happy).  it was a silly game anyway.  i hope we can play a better game tomorrow.

lots of love, nora the panda x

Reading Group

Hello all!  You'll be pleased to hear that I finally have some leisure time (yippee!).  As you know, I have been working very hard lately on a 'top secret' case.  Poor Bond. Badger Bond. is still working on it, but I am not allowed to tell you any more than that.

We've also had a visitor staying with us - a travelling salesbear called Ollie.  He sold us some books, so we decided to start a Fluffy-Hair House reading group, as you can see.

At the moment, we are reading, "The case of the missing banana."  It is very interesting.  Of course it helps me develop my detective skills further (as I worked on a very similar case in January, as you may recall) and Nora enjoys it because of the mention of banana cake and banana sundae (indeed, it is banana Sunday, today!).

We think that Lime, the tree frog, has some special needs, so we have been helping him with his reading.  He doesn't say very much, but he smiles (and jumps) a lot.  We think he likes living here in the Fluffy-Hair house.  We found out that he was not treated well by his tree frog family because he was seen as the black sheep of the family*, on account of his size (much bigger than the average frog).  Poor Lime.

Anyway.  I'm off to eat the banana sundae that Nora has prepared for us (yum yum).  See you soon!

Love from Lewis MAD (Master of Animal Detective) xx

* I apologise to any sheep, black or white, for this comment.  I recall our CALF (Campaign Against Ludicrous Falsehoods) campaign against such animal sayings (along with others like "codswallop" and "sick as a parrot" etc.).  So I am sorry.  I am doubly sorry for also associating frogs with sheep.  Of course, they are a completely different species.

lime

yippee!

a tree frog has come to live in the fluffy-hair house!  his name is lime.  he is very handsome as you can see.  i'm off to make him some banana toast...

Monkey Times

Yet again, Monkey has been on his travels and wanted me to post this.  Apparently he had a tip off about some "gold being in them there hills."  He says this is what the photo shows.  Me, I think it is fools gold (it being April Fool's day and all that).  Obviously, I am not saying that Monkey is a fool (he's too cool), but if it was gold, then maybe somebody would pay for me to go on holiday (I have been working very hard again - Bond. Badger Bond has had me on another mission - which I am not allowed to talk about - Top Secret).

Anyway, Monkey says he is actually working as a journalist for the Monkey Times (although we have never seen the publication here in the Fluffy-Hair house).  It all seems a bit odd, especially as he appears to have spent much of his time lazing by this hot spring.

Oh well.  Monkey is on his way back now.  Apparently he has met a Tree Frog who will be staying with us here in the Fluffy-Hair house.  Nora is very excited.  She's making a special cake for him as I write.  I believe it's an Apple Fool.

no ice cream for me

so while i have been sleeping all day (us pandas like to do that - it also has the added bonus of avoiding the fluffy-hair house chores), it seems that monkey has been out to the beach!

he's found a new friend.  she works in a burger bar (yummy - they sell ice cream too!).  he must have met her after work, as she is still in her uniform, as you can see.

it's a pity that when he got back to the fluffy-hair house he had already eaten the ice cream, so there was none for me!  apparently he had to because it was melting.  lewis said that if i hadn't spent all day in bed, i could have gone out with monkey to the burger (and ice cream) bar.  he said i have learnt my lesson.  that's a bit odd because i do not go to school - as you know, i am in training to be a nurse, and i don't think we have lessons in ice cream (although maybe we do when we do our module on teeth).

but anyway. monkey had a good time.

lots of panda hugs, nora xxx (who will be having fluffy ice cream dreams tonight, i hope)

Rabbit Rescue

Well, I have been very busy so far this new year.  My MAD detective skills have been called upon a number of times (I don't even have time to go into the incident of panic over stolen biscuits (Nora), or the assault on a penguin (Emu), or the case of the missing banana).

Maybe one of the most intense cases was getting a call to the Fluffy-Hair house about a missing rabbit.  Apparently, Harvey had fallen upon bad times (quite literally, as you can see in the photo).

She went missing, and wasn't seen for days.  So I was asked to put my detective skills to use to find her.

Apparently, she had become stuck in the snow!  Oh dear!

I was quickly on the scene.

Here she is, waiting at the bus stop for me to pick her up.  You'll be pleased to hear she is now back safe and warm in the Fluffy-Hair house.  She has managed to stop drinking and is on the way to a full recovery.

I am now having a break for a few days. Nora has promised to cook our favourite breakfast tomorrow (banana, waffles and syrup) - yum yum!

New Year Sprouts

Hello all!  We've all been so busy over the festive season that we have had hardly any time to let you know what we have been up to!  As you can see, I got some of my favourite bananas for Christmas.  Dolly the Sheep bought them for me - you can see her peering at me in the background.  I think her and the gnome had just been for a walk.

I also treated myself to some wine.  Much as I occasionally enjoy a glass, I must warn you that is not a good idea to have too much wine whilst eating sprouts.

This is what happened to Nora when she did. She also ate far too much chocolate.  The result was not too pleasant.  You can probably tell from the expression on Chubby's face that things got a bit whiffy!

Anyway.  We would like to wish a Happy New Year to all our Fluffy Friends.  May you have bananas, chocolate and fun in 2012.

Lots of love, Lewis xxx
